Our Heat Pump Installation Process
01
Initial Consultation & Estimate
Step one is to contact us. Using the information you provide, we’ll prepare an indicative quotation based on the equipment we recommend. This is simply to give you a clear idea of the likely cost and does not commit you to going ahead with any further work.
02
In-Person Survey
During a typical MCS heat pump survey visit, our design engineer will walk through your property with you, room by room. We will gather all of the necessary information and calculate accurate heat losses for each area. At the same time, we will discuss your comfort preferences and any specific requirements you have, so the system is designed around your needs. During this visit we will require some input regarding location of the outdoor unit, any additional requirements for heat output (if applicable) and any personal choices that you would like to make regarding equipment.
03
System Design & Quote
After the survey, we take all the measurements and data away and use them to calculate, with pinpoint accuracy, the right heat pump system for your home. We base this on the heat pump we have already discussed with you, and we design the full layout, including proposed pipe routes and pipe sizing, any electrical works required, and our recommendations for upgrading radiators or underfloor heating so that each room’s heat emitters match the calculated heat loss.
04
Installation & Commissioning
Once you’re happy with the design and quotation, we’ll agree an installation date that works for you. A typical installation takes around 4–5 days, although more complex projects can take a little longer. Our team will arrive on time and install your new heat pump system exactly as designed, keeping disruption to a minimum and treating your home with respect.
05
Handover, Controls & Support
Once your new system is up and running, we’ll take the time to walk you through everything in plain English. We’ll show you how to use the controls day to day, how to adjust settings, and how to top up the system pressure if needed. We’ll also explain the ongoing servicing requirements to keep your heat pump working efficiently and comply with the manufacturers warranty requirements. After the visit, we’ll send you all the relevant documentation so you have a clear record of your system and how to look after it.
